MSP Website Templates

MSP website templatesOne of the most important ways to increase your visibility as an MSP or IT solutions provider is by setting up a website. Once your website is up and running, you’ll want to market if effectively, but that’s a whole other article that we’ll just set aside. The main thing is just getting the website up.

Over the past few years, one of the innovations in web technology that has made this easier for the average user was the introduction of the Content Management System (CMS) platform. Typically based on PHP web language, rather than older HTML, these types of systems allow you to quickly and easily setup and run a dynamic web site. A database on the backend of the system allows you to store user data, run polls, add comments, and a thousand other features to your website.

This might all sound complicated, but it’s really not. After all, you’re running your own MSP, right?

Once you’ve installed the software, it’s a simple matter of downloading the right MSP website template to give your web property just the right look. Most of the major CMS platforms have a number of templates that you can download for free. After the template is downloaded, you can then tweak it as you see fit. If you can’t find the right template, there are a number of vendors who sell website templates online.

There are a number of different CMS systems out there, but here are some of the major ones to help get you started:

Each has their strengths and weaknesses. Joomla and WordPress are probably the easier ones to setup, but Drupal gives you more flexibility. The best part about all of these CMS platforms is that THEY’RE ALL FREE! That’s right.

You will have to pay for a web hosting provider to host the site, but these can be as little as a few dollars a month.

Once you’ve decided on your publishing platform and figure out your way around the system, it’s a simple matter of downloading your favorite MSP website template and putting it up on your site.
